About vinvolved
vinvolved is a project funded by v, which is an independent charity, which means it isn't working for its own benefit, it's working for yours! vinvolved helps young people like us to find volunteer placements that match our interests.
vinvolved in Bury
Greater Manchester Youth Network run vinvolved Bury in partnership with Bury Youth Service. The vinvolved team, Vicky and Beth, are friendly, always available to help and give us the advice and support we need.
There are lots of different opportunities, from administration, to reading with children, to crazy fundraising things; from one-off events to full time opportunities; so there isn't a minimum number of hours you need to offer.
When you start, you're given log sheets to fill in as you go along (or you can do it online, at vinspired.com) so you can keep track of the amount of hours you've volunteered for. That's really important because not only will you want to write on your CV how much volunteering you've done and since when... but also when you've done 50 hours you get the v50 award, and 150 more gets you the massive vImpact.
Youth Action Team
Being a member of the vinvolved Youth Action Team also opens up even more doors of opportunity (think of the YAT as a richer experience with vinvolved). The team gets training for anything new we're going to be doing, for example confidence training for when we consult young people in the Millgate Shopping Centre.
